3 -Twitter

Monday

Circle Time - 10 minutes 

Twitter Introduction - 15 minutes
We'll check out the video then discuss Twitter.
1. Getting Started - 20 minutes
​If you do not have a Twitter account, it’s time to get one.  Simply go here to join the conversations.   Now it’s time to move forward. See Google Classroom for the associated Google Document. Put screen shots of your account onto the Google Doc and turn in.
2. Be a Follower - 30 minutes
How do companies use Twitter? What do they tweet about?  What types of tweets do people send their way?  Time to find out. Times New Roman 12, double-spaced, 1 inch margins. Write up a brief 250 word report on:
  • The nature of the tweets (how can you categorize them)
  • The general image created by the Twitter account
  • Comments/tweets from followers
3. Join the Conversation - 20 minutes
A business can easily acquire a “reputation” on Twitter.  That can be either good news or bad news.  Select a company, preferably a mid-size or large company.  Search the company name in the twitter search bar.  You may also add additional words to the company name (service, complaint, etc.) See Google Classroom for the associated ​Google Document.​

  1. Distinguish the role social media marketing plays in business.
  2. Evaluate the importance of strategizing use and implementation of social media.
Circle Time - 10 minutes

​Discussion - How Effective are Hashtags? - 15 minutes

We will watch the videos and we will discuss hashtags on Twitter.

Twitter Trending - 5 minutes
​What are trends on Twitter? We'll look at current events and see how they are reflected on social media.

4. Lists - 30 minutes
Lists can be a very useful tool.  Follow this link to learn about creating and using a list: http://goo.gl/Lriir

  • Download your PDF from Canva and upload to classroom.

5. Advertising - 30 minutes
Twitter can be used for paid advertising as well.  Please complete the following as it applies to Twitter advertising.  When you are done submit it to your teacher. See Google Classroom for the associated Google Document.​

6. Twitter Presentation - 60 minutes
  • You will be making a Screenrecord using quicktime. ​See Google Classroom for the associated Google Document.​ 
  • Your presentation must be at least 1 minute.
  • Use Google Slides and create your presentation. If you can, screen record with a picture of yourself in the bottom corner.
Twitter Famous - 30 minutes
You will start to draft a script and storyboard for a Twitter video. See requirements below:
  • Footage must be recorded on issued school camera
  • School related - 20 points
  • No more than 1 minute - 20 points (5 points for each 15 seconds, 10 points for each 30 seconds)
  • Rule of thirds, overall look - 10 points
  • 1 transition graphic - 5 points
  • 2 titles - 10 points
  • One overlay - 5 points
  • Background music - 10 points
  • Includes at least 1 clip audio voiceover (can use text to speech feature) - 10 points
  • Good audio, is the volume appropriate, loud enough? - 10 points

Thursday 

Circle Time - 10 minutes

Twitter Famous Video - 80 minutes
You should have all your footage recorded. Using Adobe Premiere RUSH, you will edit your footage. Remember the requirements above.
