Campfires - 60 minutes
We will be splitting wood, then making different types of campfires. You will need to be able to build each one except for the "Fire Hole". Practice making these at home with small sticks. You will make a Flipgrid showing you describing and explaining each type of campfire listed below. Your video should be longer than a minute. Feel free to move camera around. DO NOT MAKE AN ACTUAL FIRE!

East Troublesome Fire - 30 minutes
In 2021, our community was devastated by the East Troublesome Fire. Although the fire took a week to move across Grand County, once it crossed 125, it moved at a rate of 6k acres per hour. This is equivalent to 80 football fields per minute. First responders estimated it would take 6 hours to clear the area the fire was threatening. Instead, I was told it was done in 90 minutes. Individuals were evacuating by foot, clearing downed trees on the road, and some did not make it out of the fire. Would you be ready?
Let's talk about what you would start packing in a pre-evacuation notice versus what you would grab if the sheriff's were at your door telling you to get out now. We'll also discuss items you should have in your home or vehicle so you can survive. What else would you add to my list below?
